Chris Shay- Lineman

Born and raised East Coaster

In my 20 years as a highly trained interprovinical Red Seal lineman I’ve had a successful career in one of the most dangerous trades.

Everything from regularly climbing 180ft towers, rope access to extremely remote power lines in the mountains, building power lines with the use of helicopters, to years of supervising men to ensure work is met with quality and care.

But I’d rather tell you that when I’m not climbing trees, I enjoy spending my days with my beautiful (and hilarious) partner Chantal, and energetic son Henri. Being able to be with my family on the east coast means the world to me, and I hope you support this dream.

Beyond loving my family you often find me making high quality beverages in my home brewery. Escaping to the lake, enjoying a good fire, fishing, hunting, four-wheeling, swimming, saving kittens, and other general bad ass-ery.

I spent years trying to decide how to safely take down some oak trees which were growing over the power line, over the garage roof and others that were leaning towards the house. When I saw Live Wire Tree Works advertising on Facebook I decided to call for a consultation and estimate. Chantal and Chris arrived at the time we had agreed on and that evening he provided me with an estimate. We came to an agreement and the next day Chris marked all the trees I needed cut. It was a tricky job but Chris was very cautious combining techniques of; climbing, trimming, block and tackle, tree notching and roping to make a limb fall in an arc rather than straight. He was experienced, cautious, open to discussion, explained the job to the customer and did exactly what I had asked for in a timely manor. His arsenal of specialized tools of the trade made the job go that much smoother. I was very pleased with the work he did and would definitely recommend him.

Chris of Live Works is so professional and is very good at what they do! We are extremely pleased with the job he just completed. The job was to bring down 3 large trees in close proximity to our house. Our neighbor will clean up the mess and take the firewood. We had a very tall, very dead Birch tree that was a tricky problem as it overhung a wooden deck and flagstone patio, and was close to power lines.
